︎ SUMMARY

The Mauritshuis Museum aims to expand its market to the Chinese target. We (NPC) collaborated with them to design and develop a lightweight mini-program which offers a highlight of the museum, the iconic masterpieces as well as a tour guide in dual languages.

The App provided a great virtual value for potential Chinese visitors, especially under the tourism crisis affected by Covid-19. It has been built within a limited budget, however, has offered the essential functions while keeping a great potential to add more engaging features in the future.

︎ PAIN-POINTS

  • Chinese visitors with language barrier find it hard to understand the artwork well.

  • The official Mauritshuis App is complex to navigate while the Chinese version is not well translated.

  • Potential Chinese visitors prefer easy-to-read resources to get highlight information.

  • Affected by Covid travel restrictions, large amount of Chinese art lovers can’t go visit in the museum.
